What is air duct cleaning?
Well, that’s a good question. Sounds important though!
What is an air duct? An air duct, according to none other than Merriam-Webster, is a duct or pipe for conveying air (as to the rooms of a house or ship for ventilation or to a furnace) or the duct connecting the air bladder and alimentary canal of certain fishes (but that’s not what we’re talking about here).
Why do we have air ducts in our homes? Without them, we would not have pathways for the heated or cooled air from our HVAC units to travel throughout the home; temperature control would not exist without proper ways of distributing the controlled air, and acceptable indoor air quality as well as thermal comfort, would also not exist.
Just like everything, it does take maintenance to ensure that your air ducts are serving their purpose. The best way to determine if they’re working at their maximum potential is to simply check the air ducts, and then clean them. Seems easy, right?
Calling American Duct Cleaning to do it instead is easy, cleaning the air ducts yourself, though, can be difficult, dirty, and time consuming. Leave it to the professionals. Believe it or not, taking a vacuum to the vents just doesn’t do the whole job.
If there is buildup of debris, substantial visible mold growth, or even vermin that you have either seen or want checked, the professionals at American Duct Cleaning can do the job. Many times, it takes a professional inspection to access all of the various parts to your homes residential heating and cooling systems, as most are not visible when just looking into the vents.
There are various heating and cooling components to your homes heating and cooling system; filter, register, humidifier, diffuser, main supply, main return, supply plenum, supply branches, heat exchanger, insulation, access panels, drain pan, blower, cooling coils, etc.
So basically, the moral of the story is stay out of the vents and let American Duct Cleaning do the dirty work.
